Volunteer Opportunties

If you are an Eagle Scout who resides within the 16 county area of the Sam Houston Area Council and wish to reconnect with Scouting, please consider these volunteer opportunities. To volunteer, send us an email.

New Eagle Scout Reception

The New Eagle Scout Reception recognizes the previous year’s Eagle Scout class, and is produced primarily by volunteer efforts of Eagle Scout alumni. The council continues its tradition of providing this reception free of charge for new Eagle Scouts. The event is underwritten with generous sponsorships by Eagle Scout alumni and patrons. Volunteers are needed to help staff various positions.

Host an Eagle Alumni Meet-Up in Your Community

Eagle Alumni are hosting casual Eagle Gatherings (meet-ups) in a variety of settings.

Day of Service

ESA Publicity Booths

The ESA committee sets up publicity booths at various events to attract new Eagle Scout alumni member sign-ups, network with Eagle Scout alumni there, encourage Eagle Scouts to get involved, and promote general awareness of the Eagle Scout Association. Volunteers are needed to help set-up and man the booths.

Scout Fair is held in April at NRG Arena. Hundreds of booths run by units and community partners, outdoor cooking, merit badge midway, entertainment and much more are set up for Scouts to visit.  The SHAC Eagle Scout Association has a tabletop display at both events and information flyers.
